REINVENÇÃO

“O novo existe e é tudo quanto há de mais antigo.” Este aforismo do pintor Delacroix resume o que considero ser o poder infinito da reinvenção. Imitando a natureza cíclica do universo e da própria vida, a reinvenção artística é a porta para o futuro, paisagem nítida e luminosa, onde a humanidade continuará a sua descoberta interior e a Arte a sua viagem extraordinária. As danças tradicionais portuguesas, movimentos rítmicos tão verdadeiros e tão genuínos, são aqui reinventadas através dessa porta imaginária, levando-nos para uma paisagem sonora inaudita, apesar de já antiga.

REINVENTION

‘The new exists and is the oldest thing there is.’ This aphorism by the painter Delacroix summarises what I consider to be the infinite power of reinvention. Imitating the cyclical nature of the universe and of life itself, artistic reinvention is the door to the future, a clear and luminous landscape where humanity will continue its inner discovery and Art its extraordinary journey. Traditional Portuguese dances, rhythmic movements that are so true and so genuine, are reinvented here through this imaginary door, taking us to an unheard-of soundscape, even though it is already ancient.
